Wellspring Pregnancy + Healthy Center (Hastings, NE)
Joe and Carrie were not planning on a baby. When this young couple found out they were expecting, they didn’t know where to turn. Friends and family thought an abortion was the answer, but Joe and Carrie wanted to consider all their options.
Carrie found Wellspring Pregnancy + Health Center through a search on the internet. She called and made an appointment.
“I went to my first appointment at Wellspring, and the pregnancy test was positive. I went with a friend and her mom, because I wasn’t ready to tell my mom quite yet. I really liked that Wellspring offered to talk with my mom with me. I really didn’t think that any clinic would do that,” Carrie said.
Carrie was also encouraged with the information Wellspring could give to her: “The information I received about each of my options gave me a foundation to say, ‘Yeah, this is really what I want.’ Wellspring definitely made me feel more comfortable that this is what I want to do. I wanted to keep my baby."
Carrie’s second visit to the center was for an ultrasound. This time, Joe came with her.
“He felt like he was part of the process. Seeing our baby for the first time made it
more real for both of us,” Carrie explained.
Carrie and Joe also utilized our Earn-While-You-Learn Parenting classes. Young couples at Wellspring have the opportunity to earn all they need from maternity clothes, baby gear, and diapers.
We are so grateful Joe and Carrie came through our doors. Their story is one of many that makes us keenly aware that Wellspring is needed in our community.
