Our Beliefs

UNITY

We believe that our faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, as our Lord and Savior and our adherence to the Bible, the inspired Word of God, as our final authority on all matters unifies us with all Christians that believe the same thing. We are not the only Christians, but Christians only. (1 Corinthians 1:10; Ephesian 4:1-16)

GOD

We believe in one God, a triune God, three in one. He is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthiams 13:14)

GOD, the FATHER

We believe in God, the Father, the Almighty, and the Creator of all things both visible and invisible. He is also the Sustainer of life and Lord of all. (Deuteronomy 10:14; Jeremiah 32:17; Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2)

GOD, the SON

We believe in God, the Son, who is Jesus Christ. He was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine. Jesus is the one and only Son of God. He is our Lord and Savior and died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead to give us eternal life. (Luke 19:10; John 1:1-3, 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

GOD, the SPIRIT

We believe in God, the Holy Spirit. He regenerates, renews, encourages, guides, teaches and transforms us to be more like Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is active today and dwells within every Christian. He is our guarantee of our salvation. (2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Ephesians 1:13-14; John 14:16-17)

The BIBLE

We believe the Bible is inerrant and the inspired Word of God. It is our authority for faith and practice for all Christians and the Church. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Thessalonians 2:15)

The CHURCH

We believe the Church is the body of Christ. The Church is made up of all Christians, those that come to faith through Jesus Christ, both locally and globally. She was founded on the day of Pentecost and continues today. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 27)

PEOPLE

We believe that every person has value as a creation of God. All people were created in God's image. We have all willfully sinned against God. This sin separates us from God and produces both physical and eternal death, which is eternity in Hell. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; James 1:14-15; Romans 8:12)

SALVATION

We believe that all people can be saved by the grace of God through our faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that a person receives God's grace by believing in Jesus Christ, repenting of their sins, confessing Jesus as their Lord and Savior and being baptized by immersion, but none of these things is enough in and of itself to save us. It is only through the death and resurrection of Jesus that we can be saved. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; John 3:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Peter 3:21)

COMMUNION

We believe that we should celebrate the Lord's Supper, Communion, every Sunday. We do this to follow the example set by the New Testament Christians. In partaking of the bread and the juice, we remember Jesus' sacrifice for us and strengthen our relationship with Him. (Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

MISSIONS

We believe in being a mission-minded church. We send and support evangelistic and benevolent missions both locally and globally. (Matthew 28:19-20; Galatians 6:9-10; 1 John 3:17-18)
