Christian Student Fellowship
"More important now than ever!"
That's the exact phrase that went though my mind after hanging out with a guy named Will this week. Will just finished his freshman year of college, and his story is a lot like the story we hear from a lot of guys.
He grew up going to church off and on, mostly to keep the peach at home. In his mind, though, Will had settled on being an atheist. He was definitely ready for college, as it was going to be the time of his life. No parents. No rules. No limits.
A few weeks into his freshman year, the college experience he was looking forward to was crumbling all around him. After a rough weekend, he attended a Christian Student Fellowship (CSF) night with a couple of friends and started meeting people who were on the same journey. People who had been experiencing the life-changign grace of Jesus were now sharing what they had found with their new friend, Will.
As we drove around in my truck running a couple of errands, Will said something that made my heart rejoice, "I realized that Jesus was right behind me, not to keepme from falling but to healp up after I had fallen."
Praise God for what He's doing in Will! And praise God for what He is doing through Will, as he is active in sharing what he's discovered with classmates, friends, and people at his summer job. I can't wait to see the impact he has with new students this year.
I hope you are encouraged by Will's story. There are some incredibly great things taking place on our compuses! We meet with people who have a similar story all the time. God's love, truth, and purpose find a way into their story and chagnes everything about them. We see so much hope in this generation. Keep praying!
CSF has grown to include 9 ministries on 7 campuses around Nebraska and South Dakota, and we're not done expanding. We have seen some incredible things over several decades, but I firmly believe even greater things are just ahead!
